I love going to Ibiza. Why!? Because right next to this incredible island, lies a real treasure. Called Formentera. I call it my heaven on earth. The water is almost unreal, so clear, turquoise, blue… Sand everywhere.. I was there yesterday and already dreaming of going back.
The island itself is pretty small, but it has some of the best restaurants around here. My absolute favorite is called Juan y Andrea, but there is plenty of other ones like Es moli de sal.
It is the smaller and more southerly island of the Pityusic Islands group (comprising Ibiza and Formentera, as well as various small islets), which belongs to the Balearic Islands autonomous community. You can only get there by a private boat or a ferry. But it is worth it. The best thing is to plan a nice day trip, head over for lunch, do a smim on one of the most incredible beaches of Playa de las Illetas Formentera, and do a small walk around before heading back to Ibiza. But of course you can also stay longer as the island itself offers many hotels. One of the interesting facts is also that nude sunbathing is allowed on most of its beaches. The first time I got there we also borrowed motor bikes and went on the incredible ride around the island. Highly recommend.
